Membership in YSP
YSP's annual membership, $50 Individual or $100 Family, is a donation that helps support our productions and generous scholarship program. Anyone can become a member—grandparents, friends, current participants, alumni, businesses & organizations. Becoming a member isn't required to participate at YSP, but it helps build the community necessary to support young people and the arts at YSP and beyond, and YSP appreciates every membership we receive!
YSP is a 501c3 organization, and contributions are tax-deductible. Donations beyond the membership amount are also welcome and gratefully accepted through PayPal or by check to YSP's mailing address:

“We need to be YSP members to continue to honor the gifts the program has given our family and to do our part to make sure others will be able to have the opportunity to become YSP families. … We are members of YSP in gratitude and with hope that YSP continues for a very long time.” —Mary Fons
“Shakespeare is a timeless and wondrous gift to the world, and the YSP Community makes it accessible and meaningful to all. … We in the Madison Community are very lucky to have a plethora of activities for our kids. For my family, YSP ranks at the top!" —Kathy Mazur
“Put simply, our family loves YSP. … I encouraged our kids to join [because] it would help them become literate in a way that would not otherwise happen with regular schooling. That’s definitely the case. … Even more important, for them, is that they have become part of a tight-knit, supportive community. Part of the great appeal is how open and accepting the kids are of each other, and how noncompetitive the atmosphere is. There is a lovely balance of scholarly rigor and professionalism about the productions (including the fabulous costumes) with democratic principles and affection in the casting. … As we’ve been traveling over the past year, we’ve realized that this is a unique program and how lucky we are to live in Madison and be a part of this community." —Louise Mares and Alan Sidelle
“So why did I donate to Y.S.P.? …
And unlike other programs I have found,
There's nothing else quite like it, anywhere. …
It forms a vital part of future growth,
and it must be preserved, yea, by my 'troth.
So I will do my part to keep it near,
And hope that more will follow suit to here.”
—Nick Barovic-Hancock“I can’t think of any program for young people more important or meaningful than YSP. It has certainly been that for me … the place that felt more deeply like home to me than anywhere else I have ever known. … YSP … will, no doubt, always be a touchstone for me; a source of inspiration and encouragement for my lifetime.” —Anna Farkas
“We have always believed in the arts, but never more so than when our daughter joined YSP. The process at YSP is a practical, beautiful exercise in spirit nurturance, with a backbone of solid theatrical skill building. … YSP is playful, deep down work that brings out each voice amidst the timeless classic beauty of Shakespeare like no one has ever done before! Please support this truly one-of-a-kind theatre of the community.” —Katherine Peterson
